    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 4th of January, 2015:

The Hive took a beating this week and conceded defeat to the markets generating just 56% ITM after firing 135 signals. While a 30 hour outage to our servers owing to an external DDOS attack impacted performance somewhat, the underlying global uncertainty after China’s unexpected -7% drop in equity markets, resulted in unreadable volatility patterns. The last time Hive hit this low, was in Week 10 last year (around 20 weeks ago). Apart from Dive, Curve, Tikki, Sake, Alpha1 and Key, all other signals were unprofitable.

    Bots
Bots were only able to deliver 52% ITM this week on the back of 46 signals. Dive and Curve remained above water, generating 67% ITM (3 signals) and 60% (10 signals), respectively. Turbo was not able to navigate profitably, generating 55% ITM (22 signals). Xtreme and Core took beatings, generating 40% and 33% ITM, respectively, on the back of 11 signals cumulatively.

    Humans
As for Humans, they managed to just breakeven with 57% ITM and 89 signals. However, true to form, Tiki and Sake continued to dominate, generating 72% (18 signals) and 68% (22 signals), amongst them. Alpha 1 exercised solid risk management, generating 67% with 3 EODs. The Key managed to breakeven on his Turbos, generating 63% ITM with 8 signals. The Opportunist was just below breakeven with 56% ITM and 9 signals. However Bozca, a contender for the Tiki/Sake rivalry, took a huge beating, with 47% ITM and 19 signals. El Ray tried, but was thwarted to return to his old form, and managed to generate just 2 wins out of 6 signals. The Joker was unable to climb on to the scoreboard after after 4 failed attempts, including one misread NFP EOD yesterday. 0% ITM, 4 signals.

Despite the bruising, it is worth putting things into context. As significant global uncertainty as set in again in early 2016, owing to China’s 2nd flash crash, volatility has become difficult to read. Prior to last week, Hive remained profitable for the last 20 weeks and has been above water 93% of the time (28/30 weeks). Nevertheless, weeks like this show us that further engineering and risk management improvements are required to ensure that Hive remains profitable regardless of underlying market conditions, on a weekly basis. We believe these difficult conditions may continue for a few weeks ahead, and therefore ask clients to pay even closer attention to personal risk management.

For any questions, feel free to get in touch.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 11th of January, 2015:

Global fear and uncertainty propagated throughout the financial markets with U.S indices having their worst start in Jan so far, in the history of investing. As Oil continues its slide to below $30 a barrel and economic data out of the U.S sent equity market jitters causing indices to plunge further this past week, Hive was only able to post a 54% ITM week, moving even lower than the week before which was at 55-56%. The signal count increased to 133. However, upon deeper inspection, the performance varied dramatically inside the Hive, with certain signal streams showing true class and risk management as we progress through this storm. Humans battled the conditions relatively well, breaking even with 58% ITM, 80 signals. However, robots took severe damage, generating just 49% ITM with 53 signals.

    Humans

The Opportunist put on a display of near perfect trading and risk management, really delivering a reality check to those around him that he is not fazed by the current markets. With 11 signals and 91% ITM, Opportunist has started the year off on a strong footing. Mr. Sake continued his dominance in Hive, also remaining unfazed, generating 77% ITM, with 13 signals. The Key had one of his best runs yet, generating 75% ITM with 8 turbos. Tiki had a more patchy week, with just 60% ITM and 20 signals. Alpha 1’s EODs took a hit, with him generating just 1 winner out of 2 signals, although, he engaged in solid risk management and didn’t trade when no clear opportunity presented itself. The Joker’s weak run continued with 40% ITM on 5 attempts. Boscza’s rut continues into Week 2 of January, with just 27% ITM on 15 signals. El Ray, too, showed no signs of life, with just 17% ITM and 6 signals.

    Robots

Core was the beacon of hope, generating 82% itm on 11 signals, thereby outperforming in these conditions. However, Xtreme took damage, with 46% ITM on 11 signals. Turbo’s poor run continued for a 3rd straight week, as it generated just 41% ITM on a whopping 22 messy signals. Curve took an even worse beating with 33% on 9 attempts.

While Hive’s systemic strength continues to be challenged in precarious financial market conditions, the system is holding steady overall. We expect the challenging conditions to continue in the financial markets for the next few weeks, however with the addition of better engineered robotic streams along with ongoing risk management, Hive should begin to progress towards the 60% mark.

For any questions, feel free to get in touch.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 18th of January, 2015:

After two weeks of turbulence, Hive regained composure and generated 68% ITM, on the back of 110 signals. This is despite precarious underlying financial markets conditions. Bots only managed to breakeven at 58%, with just 33 signals. However, humans produced a class performance, generating a 73% win rate on the back of 77 signals.

    Humans

Mr. Sake produced one of his best weeks yet, dominating the human enclave with 11 signals, 100% ITM. The Key continued his Turbo run this year with 8 signals, 88% ITM. Boszca regained form after a poor 2 weeks, generating a whopping 80% ITM on 20 high quality, finessed, signals. Tiki took some bruising in the Asian session, but overall came up victorious generating 64% ITM on 22 signals. The Joker was above water with 60% ITM, 5 signals. Alpha was able to generate just 50% ITM on 2 EODs. The Opportunist, after having the best week of his career the prior week, this week generated just 44% ITM on 9 signals as he was unable to make sense of the market, once again.

    Robots

Dive, after a winter hibernation, rose to the occasion, generating 3 wins, 75% ITM. This was matched by Xtreme, 75% ITM, 3 wins. Turbo found some form after some tweaking of its algorithm, generating, 67% ITM on 9 signals. Core managed to eek out profitability with just 60% ITM on 5 signals. Curve, true to form, destroyed value, with 11 signals and 36% ITM.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 25th of January, 2015:

Hive couldn’t quite match the prior week which saw results reaching 68% ITM, however generated a satisfactory performance with 65% ITM, on the back of 105 signals. This is despite precarious underlying financial markets conditions. Bots outperformed, with 69% ITM, albeit with a low volume of signals (26). Humans had a more challenging week, generating just 63% ITM, on the back of 79 signals.

    Humans
Alpha 1, generated 2 solid EODs, ending the week with 100% ITM. The Joker saw some return to form, generating 4 wins out of 5 signals, 80% ITM. Tiki continued to outperform in the Asian session with 68% on 22 signals. Boscza had a more mixed week, with 61% ITM on 23 signals. The Opportunist and Key under-performed slightly, with 57% ITM and 7 signals alike. Mr. Sake posted a weak week, with just 54% ITM on 13 signals.

    Robots
Turbo shrugged off a poor January start, ending it on a bright note with 83% ITM, 6 signals. Curve generated 8 signals and 75% ITM. Xtreme generated just 4, at a 75% ITM as well. Core had a more difficult week, with just 60% ITM on 5 signals. Dive was only able to win one signal out of 3, with 33% ITM.

    Hello everyone!

Here is a summary of January 2016:

Despite a very tough two weeks in early Jan, driven by the 2nd China equity market crash, Hive ended the month at 60% ITM with 483 signals.

Robots were not able to generate profit as a group this month, with just 55% ITM on 158 signals. Within this, Core and Dive, however did stand out with 63% ITM (27 signals) and Dive with 60% ITM (10 signals). Turbo, Xtreme and Curve together destroyed value, with ITM of 54%, 54% and 50% respectively, with around 110 signals amongst them.

Humans did well overall to gauge and adapt to the swiftly changing market conditions and generated 63% ITM on 325 signals. The men of the month are Mr. Sake and Key, who generated 73% and 71% ITM, respectively, with around 90 signals amongst them. Alpha 1 stood out with 67% ITM on 9 solid EODs. Tkki and Opportunist generated 66% and 64% ITM, respectively, with 82 and 36 signals between them, respectively. Boszca despite his recovery in the last two weeks of January was not able to compensate for a poor first week, thereby only generating 56% ITM for the month with a whopping 77 signals. The Joker had a poor month with just 48% ITM on the back of 19 signals. After generating just 25% ITM on 12 signals, El Ray took the bottom position.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 1st of February, 2016:

Hive couldn’t quite match the prior week which saw results reaching 65% ITM and fell further to 61% ITM last week. Heavy turbulence in the underlying financial markets continues into February, with disappointing NFP U.S jobs data yesterday sending the equity markets further lower in a tailspin. However, humans outperformed bots this week, generating 64% ITM with 72 signals. Bots underperformed, generating just 56% ITM on the back of 57 signals.

    Humans
Opportunist regained top form and dominated the humans roster, with 89% ITM and 9 signals. Tiki and Mr. Sake reigned supreme in the Asian session, unaffected by market conditions, generating 78% and 73% ITM, respectively, on the back of around 33 signals cumulatively. There was a wide gap between these leaders and the remaining human providers this week, as Boszca suffered another hit, with 50% ITM on the back of 16 signals, The Joker just 40% ITM, albeit with just 5 signals and The Key coming off previous week’s highs, generating just 33% ITM on the back of 6 signals. Alpha 1 posted a weaker week with just 3 signals and 1 win (33% ITM).

    Robots
Xtreme, Core and Curve shrugged off weak underlying market conditions and generated 100% ITM (4 signals), 67% ITM (3 signals) and 63% ITM (16 signals) respectively. However, the heavy mean reversion bots such as Turbo, Dive and the newly launched Peak, continued to disappoint with Turbo generating just 50% ITM (20 signals), Dive 50% ITM (6 signals) and Peak (43% ITM, 14 signals). Peak has been paused and further engineering is being performed in the mean while. Efficiency improvements to Turbo’s code have also been made, with ITM improvements expected in the coming weeks.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 8th of February, 2016:

Hive battled through ongoing rough financial conditions, but managed to eke out a 63% ITM week on the back of 93 signals. Humans outperformed bots again, generating 66% ITM with 65 signals, on the back of solid risk management. Bots broke even, generating just 57% ITM on the back of 28 signals.

    Humans
The Joker, in his final week at Hive, went out with a bang, generating 100% ITM, albeit on just 2 signals. Alpha 1 generated two solid EODs, 100% ITM. Mr. Sake and Tiki continued their rivalry, generating 75% ITM (12 signals) and 70% ITM (20 signals), respectively, thereby making quick work of the Asian sessions. Boscza had a slightly better week with 65% ITM (17 signals) as his form finds itself slowly. The Opportunist who has enjoyed a dominant few weeks, saw a fall from grace, only able to generate 50% ITM (6 signals). The Key in his penultimate week was only able to deliver 33% ITM (6 signals).

    Robots
The leader of the pack this week was Curve, with 11 signals and 82% ITM. This was followed by Turbo that saw some semblance of its good days, with 80% ITM (5 signals). Core was only able to deliver 1 winner (2 signals, 50% ITM). Xtreme caused damage, generating just 20% ITM on 10 signals. Dive and Peak did not fire.

Despite the underlying market conditions in January and February so far, Hive’s defences are holding and the system remains profitable at around 61%, however, below its benchmark of 66% ITM. Over the next week, as the Joker and Key leave us, their accounts will be taken over by imdaboss and Iris, respectively, ensuring that ITMs and volumes remain or even increase

The bots are adjusted for news, so they trade around planned news flow. During unplanned news flow, however, they take a hit.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 15th of February, 2016:

Hive saw some temporary reprieve, as profitability continued to further expand from 63% ITM the week before, to 66% this week on the back of 93 signals. Both humans and bots held steady, with the former generating 65%, 72 signals and the latter, 67%, albeit with just 21 signals.

    Humans
Alpha1 pared back his volume on EODs, generating just 1 winning signal. ImDaBoss had one of the best debut weeks ever, in the history of The Hive, generating 82% ITM, 17 signals. The Opportunist continued his dominant form, generating 77% ITM, 13 signals. Tiki powered ahead, controlling the Asian session with 67% ITM and 15 signals. Sake had a slower week, with just 63% ITM, 8 signals. The Key’s final week in Hive ended on a more pedestrian note, with just 57% ITM. Boscza continued to face significant pressure, as he only managed to generate 27% ITM, 11 signals.

    Robots
The leader of the pack this week (again) was Curve, with 11 signals and 73% ITM. Dive managed to eke out 1 signal and win it. Turbo was lack lustre, generating just 60%, with 5 signals. Core and Xtreme undershot expectations, generating 50% apiece on the back of 2 signals, each.

Next week Peak returns to join the bots cadre, after being reengineered. Iris will take over from Key on Monday.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 22nd of February, 2016:

Hive couldn’t match the last few weeks of profitability and took a hit, generating just 54% ITM on the back of enhanced volume (125 signals). The system failed to fly properly as one of its two engines, Humans, was offline, generating just 45% ITM on the back of 76 signals. The other engine, Robots, powered ahead generating 69% ITM on the back of 49 signals.

    Humans
Apart from Hive’s Stalwart, Mr. Sake, who continued to impress with 67% ITM and 15 signals, all human signal providers took a hit. The Opportunist was not able to match is dominant performance of last weeks and could only eke out 57% with 14 signals. Iris had a lack-lustre debut with 50% ITM (8 signals). The damage was done by Tiki, 45% ITM, 20 signals, who could not read the Asian volatility this week. While Alpha kept volume under control (3 signals), he was only able to generate 1 win. The body count worsened as one progressed down the ranks. Bozca’s weakness extended to yet another week where he was unable to tame his Turbos, generating just 25% ITM on 8 signals. The biggest value destroyer this week was Imdaboss, who dominated the prior week’s charts; this week he generated 0-8, the worst score ever in the history of Signal Hive.

    Robots
Dive, Core and Curve dominated the robot charts, generating 100%, 86% and 80% ITM, respectively on the back of 3, 7 and 15 signals, respectively. Xtreme, traditionally a weaker stream, managed to generate 60% on the back of 5 signals. Peak, unfortunately was hit with variance, firing 15 signals but generating only 53% ITM. Turbo had an off-week, generating 4 signals.

    Month
Overall, February has been an average month for Robots, who have generated a cumulative 64% ITM with 157 signals. As for Humans, they had a below average month, with just 61% ITM, 400 signals. Hive as a system is at 62% ITM with 557 signals. Noteworthy performance came from Curve, 74% ITM, 53 signals, Core with 71%, 14 signals and Dive with 70%, 10 signals. As for Humans, Mr. Sake topped the charts with 70% and 50 signals, followed by Opportunist with 69% ITM, 42 signals.

    Hello everyone!

A Hive performance update follows for the week commencing 29th of February, 2016:

Hive generated 60% ITM on the back of 70 signals (2 removal adjustments) this last week with humans generating a 64% win rate on 44 signals and robots, just 54% with 26 signals.

    Humans
Tiki dominated the charts this week, generating 89% on 9 signals in the Asian session. Boscza, after weeks of underperformance, got his risk management inline and handpicked entries with near perfection, generating 83% ITM on 6 signals. Iris followed with 11 signals and a decent 64% win rate. Mr. Sake had a down week, generating just 40% on the back of 10 signals (1 winning signal removed). The Opportunist saw some variance kicking in, after weeks of outperformance, generating just 50% on 6 signals. Alpha 1 returns from holiday next week to resume EODs.

    Robots
Core had a sub-par week, but managed to eke out profitability with 60% on 5 signals. Curve, after its best month in history in February, generated just 55% ITM on 11 signals. Peak generated 63% on the back of 8 signals. Dive fired, won, but the win was not actionable on late Friday night and so it was removed from inventory. Turbo was not able to make the scoreboard this week, generating 0-2.
